Research Yard

The Research Yard, situated within a redeveloped former warehouse at the Brooklyn Navy Yard, is the centralized hub for all research activity at Pratt Institute. For the Research Yard’s launch, I created a comprehensive visual identity and environmental graphic system that aims to unite the dynamism of Pratt’s research centers, the naval and maritime history of the Navy Yard, and the revitalized architecture itself. The result is a typographic system based on the distinctive Foundry Gridnik typeface, combined with repeating yellow chevron patterns that serve as both wayfinding and identification elements.
