The island of Martha’s Vineyard, off the southeastern coast of Massachusetts, is host to a small bus system linking the major population centers on the island. While the routes are generally clearly laid out in terms of getting from point to point, the existing official maps provided by the local transit authority resemble diner placemats more than effective wayfinding tools. I sought to create a diagrammatic view of the system to emphasize point-to-point connections within the overall network structure while retaining certain recognizable geographic features of the island itself.
