Design for an event at Pratt Institute in April 2023 featuring photographer, author, and alumna Marilyn Nance in conversation with artist and professor of photography Tiffany Smith.
Loosely inspired by the design and typography of Nance’s book Last Day in Lagos, which chronicled the iconic Festac arts and culture festival held in Lagos, Nigeria in 1977, I designed a system of type and image that placed Nance’s photography front and center that adapted to a number of different formats and media.
