The School of Architecture Reading Room is a newly renovated space in Pratt Institute’s historic Higgins Hall. The room is home to the William “Bill” Menking Book Collection, containing more than 2,000 titles on urban planning, architecture and design.
To create a unique visual identity for the reading room, I designed a typographic design system that consists of vinyl wall graphics applied to the walls of the space, as well as halftone patterns custom-cut into the doors of specially designed metal bookshelves.
The opening of the School of Architecture Reading Room was covered in The Architect’s Newspaper and Pratt News in December 2023.
